selling a network of websites: rednecks and Amazon associates
I noticed today that I am a website redneck too; also seems another smart guy is getting rid of its Amazon associate websites, I wonder if I shouldn't start thinking about selling my own AWS/ECS 4.0 network:
http://simplest-shop.com between 110k-20k visitors a month; (but had 20-10x more in the past)
http://shop.php9.com
http://find24x7.com, 82k visitors in May
http://bookstore24x7.com (24x7 network with around 70k visitors in May)
...
Now the usual marketing comes: They all have different PRs, impressive traffic numbers and with some advertisment budget they could make good money. If you think about it a little, it's a little to zero maintenance, singe-person managed network that raises almost a quarter million visitors a month.
Maybe the Amazon XML bubble is over; and I noticed I always wake up too late, by the time everybody has fleed the boat already. Or the bubble really just begins; and all this might just be explained by the fact that zero maintenance does not satisfy our geek nature, and we're constantly looking for new challenges. Maybe it's better to wait until our pioneer move runs the boulder across the small aws community and prices drop significantly. Anyway, I'll think about it, and maybe make a move soon.
